As the 2023 Imo State August meeting come to an end, the grand finale was colourful with the presence of the wife of Nigeria president Her Excellency OLUREMI TINUBU that graced the occasion.
As part of her effort to unite Imo women and foster peace and progress in the state, the wife of the governor Barrister Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma toured a cross the 27 local government in imo, and scheduled for the grand finale on Friday the first day of September which was an epoch making event for the Imo women.
This memorable event has the esteemed presence of the wife of The President of Nigeria, Senator Mrs Oluremi Bola Tinubu who decided to honor the invitation of Her Excellency, Barrister Mrs Chioma Uzodinma with her entourage of some governor's wives and other high powered dignitaries and government appointees.
In a welcome address, the wife of Imo state Governor, Barrister Mrs Chioma Uzodinma who played host to The First Lady of Nigeria appreciated Mama Nigeria for honoring her invitation to meet and exchange ideas with Imo women, which she is optimistic will add great value to Imo women and also give them a sense of belonging.
She also expressed her
satisfaction at the peaceful disposition of imo women even in this period of temptation, and insisted that peace and unity is the way forward.
Barr. Chioma emphasized the need for women to advance into the shared prosperity government off Her Husband Governor Hope Uzodinma which will strengthen the well being and welfare of Imo women .
The Governor of Imo state senator Hope Uzodinma in his speech, appreciated his wife for leading the Imo women aright which he said will help to empower the women of Imo the more.
In her response, the wife of the president, Senator Mrs Oluremi Bola Tinubu thanked the First Lady Imo state Barr. Chioma Uzodinma for inviting her to this special event and for her good works in
prioritizing unity and peace amongst Imo women. She called on Imo women to come out in mass to ensure that Governor Hope Uzodinma is re elected back to
Government house in the forthcoming November 11 2023 Governorship election.
She said the government of Hope Uzodinma has achieved a lot for Imo people and for the women in the first term of his tenure and also for him picking their fellow woman to run as deputy in this second term bid.
The first lady however reassured Imo people that Her Husband the President's administration is committed to making Nigeria a comfortable place for every Nigerian.
The event which took place at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu spuare witnessed thousands of women from the 27 local government area in Imo state, Wives of sole Administrators,Wives of political appointees and other women organization. There were side attractions like match past and other activities.
This is the first official visit of the Nigeria First Lady in Imo state in particular and south East in general....
