The management of Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri, Imo State, has imposed restrictions on religious activities on campus due to security concerns. According to a memo signed by Deputy Registrar Mrs. Mary N. Unegbu on behalf of the Registrar, the back gate of the school will be locked at 6:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2025.
As a result, all church activities are required to end by 5:45 PM to allow students and worshipers to exit the campus safely before the gate closes. The restriction is attributed to security purposes, with the management aiming to prevent potential security breaches by limiting movement and religious activities.
To ensure the safety and security of students and staff, security patrols will be intensified across the campus to maintain law and order. Students are requested to comply fully with the directive, and the management appreciates their understanding and cooperation.
This decision comes as part of the institution’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of its students and staff. This suggests that the institution is proactive in addressing security concerns and taking steps to maintain a safe environment for its community.

The management is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all students and staff. By taking these measures, the institution aims to prevent potential security breaches and maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone.
