The Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli Local Government Area (LGA) in Imo State, Hon. Ifunanya L. Nwanegwo, has launched the grading of rural roads across all 12 wards in the area. This initiative is part of his commitment to improving the quality of life for his constituents through efficient leadership and infrastructural progress.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the road grading initiative began in Ogwa Ward 1, the home community of Chief Rufus Osueke, the former Chairman of the Mbaitoli Interim Management Committee (IMC). The event saw the deployment of earthmoving equipment, including caterpillars and graders.

Hon. Sopuruchukwu Nwokoro, the Councillor representing Ogwa Ward 1, expressed confidence in the leadership's ability to bring about lasting grassroots development. "We are grateful to witness the commencement of the Mbaitoli Rural Road Grading, which has begun in Ogwa Ward 1, thanks to the leadership of Hon. Nwanegwo," he said.

Chief Rufus Osueke, the chief mourner, thanked Hon. Nwanegwo for prioritizing the grading of roads in Ogwa Ward 1, especially as the community prepares for a significant family funeral. He also appreciated Governor Hope Uzodimma for his support of grassroots development.
