The St. Mary's Anglican Church, Umuokoro, Ngor Okpala, played host to the 2024 Synod of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Egbu Diocese.

Renowned businessman and theologian, Dr. Matthew Chima Amadi, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing God as the ultimate thinker.

Amadi's address, "Nzube Chukwu — God is a thinker: Development as a godly mandate," showcased his deep understanding of theology.
He stressed that God's nature as a thinker is embedded in the biblical account of creation, highlighting divine wisdom, intentionality, and purpose.

Genesis 1, Amadi noted, reveals God's mind, showcasing His ability to create a well-structured universe.

As creationists, Amadi said, we recognize an intelligent designer who developed the universe out of nothing.

The sequence of creation, he argued, demonstrates God's wisdom and forethought.

Amadi emphasized God's purposeful creation of humanity, citing Genesis 1:26.

Humanity, he said, is endowed with the capacity to think, innovate, and develop, reflecting God's nature.

Colossians 3:23, Amadi noted, instructs believers to work with dedication, as unto the Lord.

Romans 12:2, he added, urges Christians to renew their minds, aligning with God's wisdom.

Amadi described societal development as having a spiritual dimension, rooted in God's moral laws.

Isaiah 9:7, he cited, connects the reign of Christ with justice and righteousness.

Government, Amadi said, derives authority from God to promote good and restrain evil.

Romans 13:1-7 and 1 Timothy 2:1-2, he noted, emphasize Christian participation in governance.

Genesis 1:28, Amadi explained, charges humanity with responsible leadership and societal stewardship.

Leadership, he stressed, is central to fulfilling this mandate.

Amadi lamented Nigeria's challenges, citing education backwardness and healthcare delivery.

He condemned the demolition of Imo State's library, replaced with a church building.

Amadi donated N25m for church development, urging elites to support public education.
