Pastor Adeboye Apologizes for Tithing Remarks, Says "I Was Wrong.

By Ella Michaels

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has tendered an apology for previously stating that believers who don't pay tithes won't make heaven.

During the ongoing annual national youth convention at the RCCG Redemption City, Pastor Adeboye clarified his stance:

"I want to apologize for making a mistake. I said if you don't pay tithe, you won't make heaven. That's wrong. It's not in the Bible.

He emphasized the biblical requirement:

"What the Bible says is to make peace with all men and pursue holiness without which no one shall see God.

Adeboye shared a personal experience from Kenneth E. Hagin's ministry in Tulsa, USA, where a man pledged to give more than all participants combined towards building Rhema Bible College.

"The man started his business with $500 and promised God he wouldn't insult Him with just 10%. Five years later, his turnover was $50 million.

Adeboye encouraged vigorous giving and praise:

"To dominate, you must praise God violently, with all your might. King Solomon gave thousands of burnt offerings, and God blessed him with peace and prosperity."

He concluded:

"Your giving must be violent, like David's praise. Don't be gentle or polite; give with passion and commitment."

Pastor Adeboye's apology and clarification aim to promote a balanced understanding of biblical principles and encourage genuine devotion.
