IMO STATE UNIVERSITY HONORS PRINCE MIKE AKUBUEZE ASAIGBO AGAIN: A RED CARPET RECEPTION FOR A WORTHY ALUMNUS

In a grand ceremony, Imo State University (IMSU) hosted Prince Mike Akubueze Asaigbo for the second time in four years, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the university and his achievements as a worthy alumnus. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Uchefula U. Chukwumaeze, the Senate, and management of IMSU rolled out the red carpet to welcome Prince Asaigbo, whose company, Success Gold Universal Investment Ltd, has partnered with the university to establish departments of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Smart Computer Engineering.
The partnership also includes a students' exchange program with selected South Korean universities under the Korea Universities Admission Center (KUAC). Prince Asaigbo announced the granting of scholarships to 22 students from Ahiazu Ezinihitte Federal Constituency to study AI and Smart Computer Engineering in South Korea.
The event highlighted the positive contributions of IMSU's Visitor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, who has subsidized education in the state. Prince Asaigbo commended the governor for his efforts and infrastructure development in the university.
The meeting emphasized the need for unity among IMSU alumni, with Prince Asaigbo offering to mediate between the two factions of the alumni association. The highlights of the meeting include:
- Establishment of AI and Smart Computer Engineering departments in IMSU
- Selection and sponsorship of students to study in South Korea
- Introduction of students' exchange programs between IMSU and South Korean universities
- Granting of scholarships to 22 students from Ahiazu Ezinihitte Federal Constituency
The event was attended by top university officials, including the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Registrar, Bursar, and other dignitaries.
