Edwin Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to arrest and prosecute Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over his recent threat to set fire in the states of PDP governors.

In a letter to the IGP, Clark described Wike's comments as treasonable, capable of inciting violence and threatening national security. He insisted that the IGP must take action against Wike, citing similar offences that led to the arrests of Omoyele Sowore and #EndBadGovernance protesters.

Wike had warned PDP governors to stay clear of the party's affairs in Rivers, threatening to "put fire in their states" if they failed to comply. Clark viewed this as a flagrant disrespect to President Bola Tinubu, who appointed Wike as FCT minister.

The elder statesman argued that Wike's words were a clear incitement to violence and a threat to national security. He urged the IGP to arrest Wike and charge him for treason.
