A heartbreaking incident occurred in Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State, where a talented young drummer, Ayomide, popularly known as "AY Stick," tragically took his own life. The 20-year-old drummer, who had gained recognition for his exceptional skills, succumbed to the constant bullying and pressure from his parents.
According to a source from Iyin-Ekiti, Ayomide's parents repeatedly belittled him, urging him to adopt a more "enterprising and productive lifestyle." The source revealed that the young boy, a secondary school leaver, couldn't handle the emotional distress and drank a whole bottle of Sniper, a poisonous substance, at his parents' home yesterday evening.
Sadly, Ayomide was rushed to the teaching hospital, where he ultimately lost his life. His death has sent shockwaves through the community, with many mourning the loss of a talented young life cut short due to parental bullying.
Ayomide's passion for drumming had earned him opportunities to perform alongside artistes in Ekiti State. His tragic end serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of parental pressure and bullying.
