The Imo state police command has appreciated the Organized Labour in Imo State comprising of Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and others for embracing a peaceful disposition during the nationwide ongoing two days protest to show their concern and displeasure for the high cost of food prices in Nigeria.
I communique released by the State Public Relations Officer stated that the Organized Labour Imo state conducted themselves with decorum on the 27th day of February protest. He also highlighted that there was massive deployment of security operatives that accompanied the protesters all through their march to make sure that unscrupulous elements did not highjacked the peaceful protests.
The protests march led by the state NLC Chairman Comrade Uche Chegemezue Nwaigwe to express their grievances without interruption toward the hiking of food stuff and other necessary amenities in the entire nation made their way to the entrance of Imo state government house where they were addressed by the Chief of staff to the Governor after which they went home. The PPRO clarified that the entire state was and is still under water right security with the assistance of the Chief security Officer of Government house Imo state, ASP Shaba, who ensured proper coordination of security during the protest at the government house gate.
