As the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma looks forward to reconstituting his State Executive Council for second term of office, having dissolved his first term state exco on the 16th of January, 2024, It is highly expected that committed, dedicated and competent hands will be recruited or reappointed to drive the state to the next level of development.
The most outstanding, dedicated, committed and competent hand amongst the governor’s foot soldiers is the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Mrs.Ruby Emele, who as a commissioner, demonstrated what could be described as unprecedented loyalty, commitment and dedication to Uzodimma’s Shared Prosperity Government.
The Isiala-Mbano-born-Amazon, while in office, diligently discharged her official duties effectively and efficiently to the admiration of many Imolites.
With uncommon humility laced with dignity, professionalism and a deep sense of responsibility, Emele was always seen in her office attending to whoever wanted to see her.
She seized every opportunity that presented itself both in formal and informal settings to propagate the policies, programmes and achievements of the Shared Prosperity Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma, drumming support for his administration for more dividend of democracy in the state.
Unlike her commissioner colleagues who hardly reported to their offices and never bordered visiting their homes to mobilize support for the governor’s re-election bid during the Nov. 11, 2023, Imo off circle governorship election, Emele was seen openly campaigning with passion for Uzodimma’s re-election in Isiala Mbano LGA and beyond amidst dounting security challenges.
To be precise, Emele was about, if not the only Imo commissioner who indefatigably talked to the media about Uzodinma’s 3R Government, furnishing journalists in the state with positive, accurate and timely information concerning the activities of her ministry and those of the state government to eliminate speculations and insinuations by the public.
The Characteristic humble, soft- spoken and generous woman actually used her office to sue for peace in communities across the state, restoring people’s confidence in the 3R Government of Uzodinma.
Imo Journalists, Town Unions, Presidents-General, Traditional Rulers, Rural Communities those who worked under her as well as Imolites can attest to this.
It is believed that even Gov. Hope Uzodimma can also attest to this, having worked together for some time now with this woman of priceless dispositions and sterling personality.
There is no gainsaying that Emele’s diplomatic and pacific approach to communal crisis is responsible for the relative peace and tranquility being enjoyed in Imo rural communities today.
Unlike other government appointees who made dubious wealth by engaging in fraudulent activities, portraying Uzodinma’s administration in bad light, Emele came out clean as she was never fingered in any financial misconduct, misappropriation or any form of scandal.
Instead, she committed her meager resources to resolve issues and made people happy on behalf of her principal, Senator Hope Uzodimma. What a dedicated icon !
It is often said that the only way to appreciate, encourage and reward a job well done, is assigning more job(s)
Indeed, as a commissioner, Emele performed exceedingly well to deserve more job(s) in Uzodinma’s second tenure of office as Imo State Governor, having distinguished herself as a capable, competent, loyal, trustworthy, dedicated, committed and dependable hand in her first assignment or job.
