POLICEMAN KILLED, SCORES OF CIVILIANS FEARED DEAD AS UNKNOWN GUNMEN GIVES NEW YEAR PACKAGE.....

The presence of unknown gunmen  was felt once again this new year, as gunmen stuck in Imo state  causing fear and panic. 

The men attacked a police check point in Ohi , Orlu road Owerri to re-establish their enforcement of Monday sit at home in Imo State.

 This blood bath claimed the life of a police officer instantly with fear of two civilian casualties from stray bullet 
 imoedgenews gathered that one police officer lost his life  in the shootout between security agencies and the gunmen.
 
The area has been so far deserted as motorists and residents scampered to safety while heavy military presence and other security agencies has been deployed to secure the area and ward off any more intending attack.

It would be recalled that at the tail end of last year,  A divisional police Officer and two police officers lost their lives to these gunmen who attacked them at Ahiara junction in Ahiazu Mbaise local government in Imo State.

Also last year recorded similar attacked on security formations in Imo which claimed lives of security operatives.
Speaking with PPRO,Imo state Command,SP Henry Okoye through Phone conversation,He daud that 
CP Danjuma expressed deep sorrow over the loss of one police officer and two civilians during the ruthless assault.
    That in determined effort to bring the perpetrators to justice, the Commissioner has ordered the Command's Tactical Team to collaborate with other security agencies and intensify efforts to apprehend the hoodlums responsible for this heinous crime. He said that CP Danjuma vowed that no stone would be left unturned, assuring the public that those responsible would face the full wrath of the law.   Speaking further SP Okoye said   that the Commissioner urge all the well-meaning residents of Imo State to actively contribute to the ongoing investigation by providing any useful information that could lead to the swift arrest of the criminals. Urging the public's cooperation, CP Danjuma emphasized the importance of reporting to the nearest Police Station or contacting the Command's emergency lines at 08034773600 or 08098880197.
In a  united front against violent crime, the Commissioner concluded with a plea for collaborative efforts from the community, stating, "Let us work together to stamp out all forms of violent crime in the State and ensure the safety and security of our residents."
