Police Command Records Success...Busts kidnappers den, arrest 5, recover two decomposing corpses

The Imo State Police Command on 29th January 2024 raided  kidnappers’ hideout, arrested five male suspects, and recovered decomposing unidentified corpses suspected to be kidnapped victims.

The raid on the kidnappers' den located in a forest between Avu and Ihiagwa, following a  credible intelligence, was carried out by operatives of the Imo State Police Command Special Tactical Unit led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma.

The arrested suspects according to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye are; Muazu Awuta, 30 ‘m’ yrs, Abdullahi Abubakar, ‘m’ 32yrs, Ozeru Sabo ‘m’ 25yrs, Saddam Suleiman, ‘m’ 27yrs, Bashir Yahaya, ‘m’, 28yrs all of Jau LGA of Jigawa State. 

The statement reads," Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Imo State Police Command Special Tactical Unit led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma with the assistance of some local hunters stormed a suspected kidnapper’s hideout in a forest between Avu and Ihiagwa, on 29th January 2024 and arrested five suspected kidnappers namely; Muazu Awuta, 30 ‘m’ yrs, Abdullahi Abubakar, ‘m’ 32yrs, Ozeru Sabo ‘m’ 25yrs, Saddam Suleiman, ‘m’ 27yrs, Bashir Yahaya, ‘m’, 28yrs all of Jau LGA of Jigawa State. 

"The suspects are currently undergoing investigation and have provided useful information to the Police that will lead to the arrest of other syndicates at large.

Conducting a search in the forest, two decomposing unidentified corpses suspected to be kidnapped victims and other items like telephones, wristwatches, shoes, and slippers and five operational motorcycle were recovered. The command is carrying out DNA confirmatory tests to identify the deceased. 

The police has Intensified operation  in the forest and other identified black spots to flush out all forms of crime and criminality in the area and in Imo State.
