Pharmacist Obiasogu Okechukwu Ethelbert, the current Provost of Imo State College of Health and Management Science Amaigbo, has been awarded the Best Provost of the year 2023 by Heros Newspaper.
He received the award during the newspaper's anniversary and dedicated it to the governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who has provided full support to the institution. Pharmacist Ethelbert has a bachelor's and a master's degree in pharmacy and is a member of PSN and PCN.
Pharm. Obiasogu Okechukwu Ethelbert was the H.O.D of General Hospital Egbema 2006-2008 and also the former H.O.D of Pharmacy Technician IMCOHAMS 2013-2018 before he was made the Provost of Imo State College of Health and Management Science Amaigbo in July 2019 until date.
He has achieved several accomplishments since assuming office, including Building of Stadium, 5 Geepee Tanks., Construction of intra network roads in the School, Building of E-library settings of 275 computers., Purchasing of a new 75 KVA generator set for the School, Building of Culverts, as to control erosion menace, Repairs of Hostels, Classroom Blocks, Offices etc, Building of 275 sitter computer systems in the School for JAMB purposes, Building a Holding ground for the ICT Center, Addition of an office for the NBTE purposes, Changing of the School nomenclature from the present “IMO STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES” to “IMO STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY”, Construction of the Analogue library – which is under construction, Construction of New Offices that is still under construction, Purchases of 5 extra 1000 liters of GP tanks, Constant supply of water.
The alluded achievements, were the basis of his selection as the best Provost of the year as explained by the publisher of the newspaper Mr. Leonard Ajukoubi
