Following the alleged contribution of the state government of Imo state, in making sure that Chinonso Uba popularly called Nonsonkwa was released from IGP monitoring unit, the said Nonsonkwa yesterday cleared the air that, he was released by court order mandating the unit to release him from their net.

According to Mazi Nonsonkwa On Thursday July 27th 2023 between the hours of 9:30 am & 10:15am he  was leaving his place of work, Ozisa 96.1FM Owerri located inside Assumpta Cathedral Owerri,as he was with three people whom he wanted to drop off around Ware-House junction and continue his journey home.  Few seconds after driving out of the gate of the cathedral, directly opposite Holy Ghost College Owerri, he was double crossed by a white unmarked Hilux, he stopped to see what was actually happening when four armed men opened doors of his car and ordered the occupants to come down from the vehicle.

Nonsonkwa,  asked them who they were, they said nothing but rather entered my car and ordered him to drive to the state police command. He asked him for what, he said the Commissioner of Police wants to see him. He told him that if the CP wants to see him, he would call.

He continued that, At that point another Hilux had blocked free flow of vehicular movement along Assumpta avenue, causing sudden traffic jam along control post. Nonsonkwa, took out his  phone dialed the number of the PPRO of Imo State Police Command  ASP Henry Okoye, he picked but told him he was in a conference, but he passed the message to him that his men are harassing him, he bounced the call; he called the O.C Anti-kidnapping because he  knew the guy who arrested him were his boys; O.C Anti-kidnapping didn’t pick.

He turned off the engine of his  vehicle asked the police officers still sitting tight in his vehicle to show him their warrant of arrest; he kept mute.

It was at this point, he knew it was  no longer funny, so he allowed them to take him to airport from there to Abuja.

Nonsonkwa, further started that his life is still in danger and is therefore calling  upon the Amnesty international, National Human Rights Organizations, United Nations, Intersociety to take note.

"Imo state government should be held responsible if any harm comes to me, my family or any of my relatives,  the date for my arraignment on the two count charge leveled against me by the IGP comes up on 11th of September 2023 at the Federal High Court Abuja" He said.
