The people of Alaeze ogwa in Mbaitolu Local government Area had been charged to Carry the youth of the area along in every developmental program that is going on in Mbaitolu.
This advise was given by an illustrious Son of Mbaitolu, and a Philanthropist, the iroko of the Lord's kingdom, Prince Ugochukwu Nwachukwu, Ugo Sly on Saturday 19th August 2023 in an interface with the Alaeze Ogwa community in Mbaitolu, Imo state.
In the gathering organized by the women of Alaeze Ogwa led by Mrs. Nwokeocha Nkechi, and presided by the president general of Alaeze Ogwa, Chief Innocent ikechukwu Onyeji, the community outlined the problems currently faced by the community as lack of social amenities, non commitance of Alaeze indegines to meetings and welfare activities and insecurity.
In his speech , the mayor of Alaeze Ogwa, chief Johannes Amadioha expressed sadness on their plight of the Ofor Otosi Market which our sister community also lay ownership of and the Alaeze indigenes remain less concerned about it. He appealed that the Alaeze people should come together to reclaim the Ancient landmark,
In her submission, the women president of Alaeze women group decried the carefree attitude of the Alaeze people over development of the comments hence the abandonment infrastructures like schools, market, health centres that were left to rot and called for attention of all and sundry to the rehabilitation of these structures which she said was the reason why their children attend schools in distance and neighboring communities.
The youth leader of Alaeze community, Comrade ibeañusi Christian stressed for empowerment of youth in the area through rotational loans for purchase of Keke for transport businesses and for skill acquisition centres in Alaeze to impart skills in youth also which will keep them busy and free from societal vices.
A notable community leader, chief Damian Onyeoji, expressed happiness for the august visit of Prince Ugochukwu Nwachukwu and also call for collaboration of everyone toward poverty eradication in the community.
In his response, Prince Ugochukwu Nwachukwu ( Ugo Sly) reiterated his resolve to do his quota in restoring development into Alaeze community. On security, he clarified that he will square off the high debt of over seven hundred thousand naira (#700.000) owed by the community on security.
On issues of A for Otusi market that is brewing internal wrangling between Alaeze and Alaenyi communities, he pleaded that there should be no violence but suggested ways of peaceful resolution towards this situation. He clarified that the market belong to Alaeze community by virtue of location and according to laws that created Autonomous communities in imo state, every landmark that fell into geographical map of any Community is owed by that community and therefore ask the people of Alaeze Ogwa to take proper action to recover their ancestral market.
Prince Nwachukwu promise to keep the youth of Alaeze busy through sponsoring of healthy competitions and tournaments that will soon begin and further proposed the 19th of August set aside to mark the day Alaeze community reunited for peace and development and admonish the community to eschew rancour and animosity among them. In his Vote of thanks, a former member representing Mbaitolu in the imo state house of Assembly and Honorable commissioner representing Owerri zone in Imo House Of Assembly Service Commission, Sir Israel ifeanyichukwu Nnataraonye expressed his happiness to be present at the Peace meeting and applauded Prince Ugochukwu Nwachukwu for finding time to interact with the Alaeze people. He also thank Ugo Sly for his volunteer to renovate Alaeze Civic Hall for the use of the people and prayed that the youth empowerment will be achieved as it will be the highest developmental stride the can ever achieve to ensure proper law , order and security in Alaeze community.
