Ahead of November 11 Governorship elections in imo state, The Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodimma has begun political and religious evangelism.
In a Sunday service at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Nwaorieubi, Mbaitolu Local Government,
Uzodimma said that he kick-started his new political and religious evangelism to create awareness and return confidence into the people as there is so much fear and apprehension due to act of violence and terrorism that has been witnessed in the state recently.
Uzodimma also promised a mission school as requested by the parish priest Rev Fr CamiMario Egeolu and his parishioners..
Father CamiMario adviced christians to exhibit honesty and trust in any office they occupy
The governor also made a cash donation for the Reconstruction of the church building,
At All Saints Cathedral Egbu in Owerri North Local Government Area, the Governor comended the Bishop, Rt. Reverend Enyinnaya Okoroafo, Anglican Bishop of Egbu Diocese and the congregation of communicants for their peaceful and steadfast disposition in the State and urge them not to allow the crimes and criminality being carried out in the state by some few miscreants ,
assured them that he will not disappoint every reasonable expectations of Imo people.
In his homely, Bishop Enyinnaya Okoroafo said that it is a rare privilege to have the Governor of the state worship in their cathedral for the first time. He expressed his gratitude to the Governor and his 3R government for infrastructural development in the State. " of us that live around here knew how difficult is had been with our dilapidated roads in the past, but now somebody can travel from egbu to Owerri in five minutes, not to talk of Owerri to Orlu. You can now close your eyes and drive on the road. We are so grateful to you His Excellency." He gratified.
The Bishop also thank the Governor for giving the Anglican community a esense of belonging during this years pilgrimage which has eluded them for so many years now and said the the Diocese of Egbu got a huge slot for the pilgrimage.
He prayed to God to grant the government victory so there will be more upliftment of the state by the leadership.
" Your thanksgiving next year will be in this Cathedral" the Bishop concluded.
