As part of ensuring the re-election bid of the incumbent Governor of Imo State, Sen.Hope Uzodimma, in the November 11th 2023 guber polls, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in
Owerri Zone have seriously engaged on a Campaign Visit/Tour to Owerri-West LGA of the state.
The tour which took place at the Council Headquarters Umuguma witnessed notable leaders and party members graciously present.
During the tour, the Imo APC State Chairman, Sir. Macdonald Ebere,PhD;while speaking, charged the people of Owerri-West especially members of the party to embrace the re-election process of Governor Uzodimma by increasing their campaign strength and strategy to hinterlands.
Dr.MacDonald however appealed to Owerri-West APC members never to relent in their electioneering efforts on the re-election victory of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma, come November 11th 2023.
The visit aimed at notifying members of APC in the area on the importance of membership verification to determine the strength of votes in the ten (10) electoral wards of the local government area.
He reiterated that elections are won at the polling booths and not at the collation centers and as such urged APC members and leaders of the party to re-verify their voting strength for onward transmission to the state APC central Data.
The aim of the exercise is for onward compilation of membership lists through the special committees set up per ward to checkmate the actual voting strength of APC membership before the election proper.
While adding that the exercise is paramount and very important, the Deputy Governor of Imo state, His Excellency Placid Njoku pleaded with Owerri West to carry out this assignment without delay to heat the target point of identifying the actual voting strength across all the wards in Owerri West and Imo state at large.
The Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, member representing Owerri West State Constituency, Rt.Hon.Kanayo Onyemaechi, who is the Majority Leader, spoke, expressed satisfaction and optimism on Governor Hope Uzodimma’s reelection, come November 11th 2023.
The Owerri-West-Born-lawmaker moreso encouraged his constituents to support the reelection of Uzodimma.

“Other government functionaries present are the Zonal leaders, Deputy Chairman of Imo Elders Council, Chief Lemmy Akakem, the immediate past Imo APC State Party Chairman, Chief Barr. Marcellunus Nlemigbo, (Marcon), the President Generals, Ward Executives, Structural Heads, Women and Youth Groups and other supporters of APC.
The highlights of event was the official reception of some members of the All Progressives Grand alliance APGA, the
Labour Party into APC in Owerri West, and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Adding his voice, the APC LGA Chairman of Owerri West, Hon.Humphery Umunnakwe, expressed satisfaction with the political stage of mobilization of votes for the reelection process of Governor Uzodimma, ahead of the Nov.11th 2023 guber polls, added that he wish that the Nigerian Constitution will allow the third tenure, that Uzodimma needs re-election following to his developmental giant strides as Imo governor his election in 2020.
