The recent sealing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters is not the most pressing issue facing the party. Rather, it is the party's tolerance of political traitors, led by Damagun and Anyanwu, alongside the Wike's group, who have vowed to destroy the PDP. These individuals have been allowed to continue parading themselves as members of the party, despite their efforts to undermine it from within. The likes of Governor Fintiri, Bala Mohammed, and others have permitted Damagun to remain in office illegally, despite knowing that the position belongs to the North Central zone and that Damagun lacks the capacity to lead the party.
*A New Chapter for PDP*
In light of the current crisis, the PDP needs to take immediate action to salvage its reputation and ensure its survival. The party should rent a new temporary headquarters and continue to conduct its activities without delay. This new headquarters can be named the new Wadata House, and it will ensure that agents like Anyanwu and Damagun are not allowed access to it. The proposed National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting must hold, and it should focus on addressing the party's internal crises.
*Five Key Steps for PDP's Survival*
During the NEC meeting, five key steps must be taken to ensure the party's survival. Firstly, the NEC must ratify the appointment of Udo Okoye as the new national secretary. Secondly, Damagun's removal from office must be formalized, and a motion should be activated for the nomination of someone from the North Central zone as acting chairman. Thirdly, the NEC must ratify the Ikimi's disciplinary report and expel Anyanwu and other pro-Wike anti-party elements from the party. Fourthly, the NEC should exercise its emergency powers to suspend Wike and his gang members from the party and compose a disciplinary committee to investigate their anti-party activities. Finally, the NEC must take immediate action to rent a new temporary headquarters, which will give the party more control over its immediate environment.
*A Call to Action*
The PDP's survival depends on the party's ability to take decisive action against those who are working to undermine it from within. The party must avoid any meetings with those who have vowed to destroy it and instead focus on taking legal action against those responsible for the sealing of its headquarters. As more governors and lawmakers prepare to exit the party, it is imperative that the PDP takes urgent steps to save itself. The party's leaders must remember the efforts of stalwarts like Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, and Ciroma, and work towards restoring the party's lost glory.
*The End of PDP?*
If the PDP fails to take these urgent steps, the party's demise may be imminent. Nigeria cannot take the PDP seriously if the party cannot save itself. The party's leaders must act now to prevent further damage and ensure the party's survival. The fate of the PDP hangs in the balance, and it is up to its leaders to take the necessary steps to save it.
*Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Weighs In*
According to Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the Opposition Lawmakers Coalition spokesperson and Imo PDP State leader, the PDP's survival is dependent on its ability to take bold action against those who are working to undermine it. Ugochinyere's comments highlight the urgency of the situation and the need for the PDP to take immediate action to salvage its reputation and ensure its survival. As a key figure in the PDP, Ugochinyere's views carry significant weight, and his call to action must be taken seriously by the party's leaders.
