Imo Police Command's Daring Rescue: Child-Stealing Syndicate Busted, Infant Reunited with Mother"
   By Ella Michaels
The Imo State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against child trafficking, arresting four suspects and rescuing a 20-month-old girl who was stolen from her visually impaired mother. The suspects, who posed as charity workers, lured the mother to Umuahia, Abia State, with false promises of financial aid, and then abducted her child.

*The Investigation*

The police investigation began after the mother, Mrs. Joy Ekwennaya, reported the case on April 8th, 2025. Acting on credible intelligence, detectives from the X-Squad Unit arrested two key suspects, Maria Nwaeze and Rejoice Odimba, in Aba on May 23rd, 2025. The suspects provided crucial insights into the syndicate's modus operandi, leading to the arrest of another suspect, Chioma Theresa, and the rescue of the stolen child.

*The Rescue*

The rescued infant was medically examined and safely reunited with her mother on May 28th, 2025, after due documentation. The Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, assured the public of the Command's commitment to protecting vulnerable persons, especially children. He warned that there is no hiding place for criminals in Imo State and urged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities through the Command's emergency lines.

*A Message from the Police*

The Imo State Police Command is committed to protecting the lives and property of all residents. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station. Together, we can build a safer and more secure community for all.
