The Imo State Police Command has reaffirmed its ban on the sale, use, and distribution of pyrotechnics, commonly known as "knockouts" or "bangers," across the state.

According to the Command, this measure is crucial for public safety, preventing injuries, and reducing the risks of fires and accidents caused by fireworks.

As the festive season approaches, the Command warns that anyone caught in possession of or using pyrotechnics will be arrested and face severe legal consequences.

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, appeals to residents, event organizers, and business owners to cooperate with this directive and report any illegal activities involving pyrotechnics to the nearest police station.
The Command assures that enhanced security measures will be implemented throughout the Yuletide period to safeguard lives and property.

The police will maintain law and order, ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for all during the festive season.
