Imo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Mrs. Ruby Emele, has praised Governor Hope Uzodinma for approving the recent council elections, hailing it as a significant step towards enhanced rural development Speaking to journalists at her country home in Amaraku, Isiala Mbano LGA, Emele emphasized the importance of democratically elected governments in all 27 local government areas.
"The local government system is the grassroots government for rural development," she noted, commending the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) for its commitment to a free, fair, and credible poll . Emele also applauded Imo people, particularly those in Isiala Mbano, for their peaceful conduct during the elections.
As the state prepares for unprecedented rural development, Emele urged Imo rural dwellers to get ready for increased government presence and development in their localities. This move is expected to bring about significant positive change, building on Governor Uzodimma's existing efforts
