The identity of the police constable murdered in the recent attack by unknown gunmen in Imo has been revealed as PC Sunday Kingsley from Ehume in Obowo LGA.
The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has launched a decisive response to the attacks, coordinating with leaders of various security agencies. The hoodlums, suspected to be members of the proscribed IPOB/ESN group, attacked the Isiala Mbano Local Government Headquarters and Obowo Police Station, causing minimal damage and killing two vigilante personnel and a police constable.
The police have deployed massive security forces with advanced operational resources to crack down on the attackers and bring them to justice. A high-level assessment was conducted by the Commissioner of Police and other security chiefs, condemning the senseless attacks and vowing to implement enhanced security measures.
The security chiefs urged vigilante groups and personnel to persevere and emphasized the need for continued collaboration to reduce crime. They called on community leaders to mobilize support in the fight against violence and encouraged residents to report suspicious activities or individuals.
The Commissioner of Police extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen security personnel and assured the public that every effort will be made to enhance peace and security in the State.
