In a daring operation, vigilante groups in Northern Nigeria have killed 12 foreign Fulani herders from the Niger Republic, accused of being members of Boko Haram and perpetrating insecurity in the region.
A viral video shows the aftermath of the confrontation, where the deceased were found with sophisticated weaponry and items allegedly looted from their victims, including military uniforms.
The incident, which took place in an undisclosed northern state, highlights the escalating tensions and complex security challenges in the region.
According to the victorious vigilante groups, "We entered our forests on the 1st Day of September and (today) is 11th Day of September 2024 in quest for them and we have succeeded in killing 12 of them after 10 days. We must continue to kill them."
The operation was carried out by fully armed and determined security agents, who described the deceased as "hungry looking idiots" who resembled "crayfish".
The incident has sparked widespread discussion, with many hailing the vigilante groups for taking action against the perpetrators of insecurity in the region.
However, others have raised concerns about the legality and morality of such operations, highlighting the need for a more comprehensive approach to addressing the complex security challenges in Northern Nigeria.
