Owerri, Imo State - September 30, 2024

The Imo State Police Command has unveiled a comprehensive security strategy to ensure a safe and peaceful 2024 Independence Day celebration across the state's 27 Local Government Areas.

In a bid to guarantee public safety, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has collaborated with other security agencies to implement joint patrols and confidence-building measures. This move aims to deter criminal activities and reassure citizens of their safety, particularly in light of recent threats from the proscribed IPOB/ESN militia group.
The Police Command has established robust security measures to address potential risks. Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station or the Command's emergency line.

In a statement, CP Danjuma extended warm greetings to all citizens on the 64th anniversary of Nigeria's independence. He called for prayers and unity towards national development and economic growth, urging citizens to actively contribute to the unity and development of the nation.

The Imo State Police Command has assured that its emergency line is available 24/7 for reporting suspicious activities.
