In a bid to restore peace and unity within the Imo State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the State Working Committee (SWC) has constituted a 13-man Reconciliation Committee. The committee, chaired by Hon. Ben Duru, comprises esteemed party members tasked with identifying and reconciling aggrieved members.

The move comes as a response to the recent crisis that has rocked the party, threatening to undermine its chances in future elections. The SWC, led by Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, is determined to run an all-inclusive administration and has mandated the committee to submit its report within 30 days of inauguration.

As the committee prepares to embark on its critical assignment, party members are optimistic about the prospect of reconciliation. "This is a step in the right direction," said a party loyalist. "We need to put our differences aside and work towards a common goal."

The inauguration of the committee is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the party's State Headquarters in Owerri. With the fate of the party hanging in the balance, the committee's success is crucial. Will they be able to reconcile the aggrieved members and restore peace to the party? Only time will tell.
