Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs, has disrupted another event organized by her ministry without her approval. In a video circulating on social media, she expresses her dissatisfaction with the organization of workshops and seminars that fail to prioritize women empowerment.
"I will not tolerate this again," she warns. "If you organize another event without my approval, I will disgrace you. I'm not against events, but they must contribute directly to women's empowerment."
The Minister emphasizes that merely organizing workshops and seminars will not impact the people. "We're wasting money on frivolous things that don't make sense," she says. "I'm ready to be misunderstood, tortured, or called names like 'troublemaker' or 'mad woman.' I've changed the narrative - no program without empowerment."
She criticizes the misuse of government funds, saying, "Monies are given to ministries for travel and programs that don't impact the nation. Why should this continue? Who will save you? You must save yourself."
Minister Kennedy-Ohanenye's passionate outburst highlights her commitment to women's empowerment and her frustration with ineffective programs.
