The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has assured the general public, particularly the residents of Umucheke Community in Onuimo LGA, that the Command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the arrest and prosecution of the killers of Eze Umucheke's cabinet members.

CP Danjuma made this promise during a condolence visit to Umucheke Community on 04/08/2024, accompanied by the Sole Administrator of Onuimo LGA, Dr. Emeka Obi, and representatives of other security agencies, Commander 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Major AI Maikarifi, Commandant NSCDC, Comdt. Mathew Ovye, and other security agencies, 0
. The visit was for an on-the-spot assessment of the heinous crime.

The CP condemned the tragic killings, describing them as barbaric, inhumane, and senseless. He commiserated with the families of the bereaved and the entire Umucheke community, vowing that the deaths would not go in vain.

A detachment of the Command's tactical unit will be stationed permanently at the community to prevent further threats until peace returns.
Preliminary findings suggest that the attack was perpetrated by six gunmen, suspected to be members of the proscribed IPOB/ESN, on three motorcycles. Residents allegedly saw the hoodlums but failed to report them to the police or other security agencies until after the attack.

The Commissioner of Police emphasized the importance of community participation in fighting violent crimes and urged residents to support the police and other security agencies by reporting suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via 08034773600.
