Normalcy is yet to return
 to Abacheke Osiche community in Egbema, Ohaji Egbema local government area in Imo state following the gruesome killing of five young men on Friday 8 of March 2024. 
The five young men identified by the locals as Bright Onyenwoke, Jeff Onyenwoke, Easy Odumodu Ejeke, Tochi Agwari and Amutadi Okwuosa was killed on the 8th of March, 2024 and their bodies had been deposited to the mortuary. 

In a bid to restore Peace and Order to the Abacheke Osiche community, the Imo state Police Commissioner CP Aboki Danjuma and his  men was received by a Native of Abacheke Osiche who was the immediate past minister of state , Education and former speaker of Imo house of Assembly Rt. Honorable Goodluck Nanah Opiah, took steps to ensure normalcy returns and  that such killings does not re occur in the community ever again. 
The entourage did on the spot assessment of the situation and converge a meeting with the community leaders find a solution to the menace.

Narrating the incident to the CP, the Ezeala of Abacheke Osiche Community, Ezeala Sally Bright Ikeji said that the gunmen invaded the community in a commando style shooting sporadically and before they knew it, five of their young men were gunned down in the shooting. He noted that there has been relative peace in the community before the attack and appealed to the police to beef up security to restore normalcy in there area.
The CP. While speaking, assured the community that the killers will not escape the long arm of the law. He encouraged the people of Abacheke that they are now secured and free to go about their normal daily routine. " It is inhuman to take life and the police will never allow it happen again" he re assured. 
He promised that with the security he put in place, nobody will ever be killed again in Abacheke Osiche community and every other place in Imo State.


In his speech, the former minister pleaded with his people to give peace a chance so as to have development. He reminded the people of Abacheke that development comes when the environment is peaceful .
While condemning the killing, Rt. Honorable Opiah, reminded the community the the Shared Prosperity Government let by Governor Hope Uzodimma good intentions of bringing industrial hub through gas free trade zone to the community and beg them not to truncate the beautiful development with insecurity.
He thank the CP. Aboki Danjuma, the IGP. Kayode Egbetokun, and the Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodimma for their efforts to ensure that peace and stability returns to Abacheke Osiche community.
He then advised his people of Abacheke to go about their normal business assuring them that More police officer will be deployed to the community to keep peace.

 The Imo Commissioner of Police CP Aboki Danjuma assured the people that there will be no more killing in Abacheke as long as the police is concerned. The said the the perpetrators of the killings will be brought to book.
