In the early hours of
today being 6th day of January, 2024, , the calmness of Odumara Orodo in Mbaitoli LGA, Owerri, Imo State, was shattered by a heart breaking event. His Royal Majesty, the revered Former Ezeimo, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, was unprovokedly taken from his residence by a group of unknown invaders.
Armed and swift, four masked men descended upon his home, their green Toyota Highlander standing out in the peaceful neighborhood.
In the disorder that ensued, the former Ezeimo's cousin narrowly escaped the clutches of the kidnappers. Yet, their primary target, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, was forcibly seized and swept away, the abductors speeding off in the direction of Umaka-Orlu road, leaving the community stunned and in disbelief.
The news rippled through the land, sparking fear and concern among the people. The once vibrant town now grappled with uncertainty and worry for their beloved former leader. Law enforcement agencies sprang into action, initiating a frantic search for any clues that could lead to the whereabouts of the esteemed Ezeimo.
Prayers echoed across the region, hope intertwined with trepidation as everyone awaited any news that might shed light on the fate of their revered leader. The once serene streets now bore the weight of tension and unease, as the community remained on edge, fervently hoping for a swift and safe return of their esteemed Ezeimo.
When Imo state police command was contacted, they affirmed that, the said monarch was kidnapped and investigation has started, hear the command PPRO, ASP Henry Okoye, "The Command has commenced intense investigation, we have taken some affirmative steps towards ensuring that the victim is rescued and that his kidnappers aarrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
