There is an uneasy calm in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State as a Staff of the Council, Mr. Okechukwu Charles Okere was accused of promoting himself from grade level 12 to 13.
According to the Letter signed by Charles Amadioha from Ngor-Okpala and addressed to the Executive Governor of Imo State, "Okere manufactured a grade level over and above his contemporaries which is currently giving him an undeserved advantage over and above his mates and contemporaries in the Civil Service".
The letter titled, "Fraudulent Promotion by Okechukwu C. Okere reads, "Sir I want to bring to your notice the unscrupulous behaviour and act of dishonest and gross misconduct by one Mr. Okechukwu Charles Okere, a supposed Director of Finance/ Treasurer of Okigwe Local Government that is threatening to undermined the existing peace in the local government service. We are not surprised that he may have connived with the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Mrs Rosemary Izuogu to perfect his shoddy deal as the woman has neglected all the reports against Mr Okere before her".
Similarly, an Indigene of Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, Mr. Ogbonna Ikediba has equally accused the Chairman of LGSC, Mrs. Rosemary Izuogu of working against the present Shared Prosperity Government in Imo State led by His Excellency,Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
In another letter addressed to the Governor by Mr. Ikediba titled, "LGSC, Chairman, Mrs. Rosemary Izuogu,an anti-Government in Government, read, "Your Excellency, I wish to recall that about one year ago, Mrs Izuogu encouraged her son and two of his friends to beat up a staff of the Commission. That callous action of hers generated a lot of public condemnation. Just few weeks ago as if she was celebrating one year of beating workers of the Commission, she also hired her son and thugs who battered an Information Officer attached to the Commission".
It further read, "We are constrained by the colossal level of Mrs. Izuogu's anti-government and anti-workers posture that is gradually, but steady eroding the public confidence in the LGSC under her leadership, She has not released promotion list of some departments,and also denied promotions to more than 2000 Local Government workers citing vacancy as a reason. She has built a cabal around her that is made up of people whose utterances and actions are against the government".
When contacted via cellphone to ascertain his own version of the story,Okere's number rang severally without response.
