Jude Ejiogu Mobilizes Emii/Emekuku For Uzodinma's Re-election, Receives Defectors

The former Imo State Secretary to the State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu, has called on the people of Emii/Emekuku Political Block in Owerri North Local Government Area to come out and vote for Governor Hope Uzodinma on Saturday's governorship election, saying this was a task for the indigenes of the area and the entire state to ensure the continuation of the progress being experienced in the state under the present government.

He was addressing the All Progressive Congress, APC faithfuls during the grand finale of the campaign for the re-election of Governor Uzodinma at The Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish ground, Nkwo-Emeke. He stressed that the rally was to reaffirm the decision of  the electorates in the area to be part of the Renewed Hope Project which Imo people have adopted, adding that the governor has done well to merit his second term in office.

Sir Ejiogu, who welcomed defectors into the party, further said that the governor's re-election would pave way for Owerri Zone to produce the next governor as well as offer him the opportunity to consolidate on his achievements. He urged the party supporters not to compromise their collective resolve to ensure overwhelming victory for Senator Uzodinma, but to intensify the campaign in their localities, as he assured them of better days ahead. He used the opportunity to appreciate defectors into APC, describing the move as thoughtful.

Also speaking, a former deputy governor of Imo State, Sir Jude Agbaso, while expressing confidence for the victory of Governor Uzodinma, enjoined the party supporters to be firm in delivering the block for APC at the polls to guarantee them benefits from Governor Uzodinma's second term in office, as he promised to be actively involved in order to motivate them.

On his own, the Sole Administrator of Owerri North LGA, Honourable Barrister Tony Umezuruike, charged the participants not to let their leaders down, but to show strong commitments towards the the realization of the governor's re-election bid. The SOLAD maintained that Emii/Emekuku Political Block has advantages to benefit from the government with the presence of a leader like Sir Jude Ejiogu, and pleaded with them to mobilize their family members for APC's victory.

Other speakers, including the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Anthony Ihedoro, Sir Francis Ejiogu, the APC Youth Leader, Owerri North LGA, Arch Kingsley Asonye, Hon. Barrister Obi Joe, Hon. Franklin Okoroafor, APC Vice Chairman, Owerri North and Dr. Mrs. Regina Amadi and others stressed the need for the governor to be re-elected and why the political block should take the lead.

Meanwhile, the leader of the defectors, Apostle Sopuruchi Nlemchi, disclosed that their decision to join the party was to support the efforts of Sir Ejiogu whom he described as his benefactor in securing victory for Governor Uzodinma on Saturday. The church leader expressed gratitude for the achievements of the governor, while declaring their readiness to be part of his re-election.
